mambo jambo..

Well, last night I went to Zouk with my younger brother Ann, who was super excited because he's a huge, huge fan of Mambo music. It was a long time ago since I went clubbing with him because mambo and me are mutually exclusive and exhaustive elements (ha, i remember my secondary school maths!) Ann was real happy because he finds it cool that his elder brother goes clubbing with him, but maybe it's also because I was paying for all his drinks too. Ha!

Last night was absolutely crazy in Zouk. It was a freakin' Wed night and the whole place was even more packed than on a Friday or Saturday! (which are trance days..my type of music!) But I realise that the reason why it's so packed is because these patrons will never turn up on Fridays or Saturdays. The mambo people get totally lost when trance music starts playing (which was evident last night when the DJ started playing a couple dance tracks during breaks and the mambo people just stood there, totally lost)

And oh, the resident fat boy dancer was there too! Gosh, I wonder if this chap has a life. He is always there whenever there is Mambo (and I mean ALWAYS!) He was inventing his own moves and leading the whole crowd through all the songs. I figure that he is an attention seeker, as he perched himself right up at the podium and never left his spot for a toilet break or to grab a drink at all! But he was very entertaining to watch because I couldn't stop laughing at how silly he looks with his para-para hands waving around. But one thing for sure, the guys are better Mambo dancers than the girls. Heck, they were all dancing in synchrony and were screaming their heads off when their familiar songs starts playing.

I was definitely the only person in Zouk last night who did not know any of the moves and was totally lost in the crowd. But at least Ann had a great time and I saw the the girl he had a crush on. She was quite pretty and cute, although I don't think she was that into Ann judging by her body language. Ha, and I always hoped that Ann will find a girlfriend who can join us during dinners or just hangout at home together. Well, I think it will be some time before I can see one of my brothers bring a girl home.

All in all, it was a nice bonding session between brothers. Here is a video I took last night. The quality is not so good as I do not have flash in my phone but enjoy it nonetheless!
